Kay Jaybee Delivers the Goods, and How!

When it comes to creative and super-heated BDSM, Kay Jaybee can’t be topped. And she certainly delivers the goods in her new novella, Not Her Type, published by Oysters and Chocolate Books.

Jenny is an accountant, an educated women, who works from home in a nearly reclusive way, having given up on love after one too many bad experiences. John is her delivery man, a man who has little education, isn’t interested in books, and certainly isn’t interested in the kind of artsy films he delivers to Jenny every week. The two couldn’t have less in common if they tried.

Jenny and John see each other every Tuesday, long enough for him to make his delivery and for them to share a quick cuppa and a short chat, until one day the chat is replaced by sizzling, totally unexpected sex. And the pattern is set. Every Tuesday the delivery man delivers. And every Tuesday Jenny is there to accept the delivery. Just nasty, kinky sex on the run. They both assure each other that’s all they want, and their arrangement meets both of their needs perfectly.

But nothing is ever simple. And Kay Jaybee brings an edginess into the complexity of their simple relationship that is sometimes brutal, sometimes poignant, but always steamy and rampant with the pent-up desires released in small doses only on Tuesdays, only for a few minutes. And yet, in that short time, Ms Jaybee gives us fabulous views into the lives of her two characters and gives us little Tuesday afternoon peeks into something way too big and complex to fit into that little weekly window of time.

Ms Jaybee’s characters are deliciously flawed and endearing. Her plot is ingenious, and the sex is frequent and varied, with steamy f/m/f and f/f sex cranking up the heat along with the usual Jaybee penchant for creative BDSM.

Not Her Type is pacey, sexy and quirky, and dare I use the R word? Yes, in addition to kink and edgy BDSM, there is romance – Kay Jaybee style – something I hope we’ll be seeing a lot more of in the future.

Well done, Ms Jaybee! Once again the Queen of BDSM delivers the goods!

Nice Girls, Naughty Sex, Fabulous Read!

Nice Girls, Naughty Sex is one fabulous read! There. That sums it all up in a nutshell. Well, actually, it’s twenty fabulous reads. With a table of contents that reads like a who’s who among the goddesses and gods of erotica, I expected this  NGNS to be a great anthology. But with a fair few authors I’d never read before, what I wasn’t sure about was how consistent the anthology would be. How could I ever have doubted, with editors like Oysters and Chocolate’s fabulous Jordan LaRousse and Samantha Sade.

The only real problem I had with Nice Girls, Naughty Sex was remembering that I was supposed to be reading this anthology to review it. Apologies to all the authors, but I have to tell the truth, I read your stories for pleasure. How could I help it, really, when the stories were all so deliciously nasty?

It wasn’t just the nastiness which made me forget the task at hand, though, it was the story factor. Nice Girls, Naughty Sex is chock-a-block with flat-out good stories. Plus they’re nasty! What a fabulous combination.

The anthology is put together in that wonderful Oysters and Chocolate format, with five stories in each of O/C’s yummy categories: Vanilla, Dirty Martini, Licorice Whip, and Oysters.

The Vanilla stories start out with ‘A Technicality,’ the tender and moving, yet very sexy story by Sommer Marsden set, of all places, in a hospice, where two lonely people comfort each other while they wait for their loved-ones to die. The section ends with Trish DeVene’s story, ‘Looking for the Wintergreen.’ Heat and romance aside, ‘Looking for the Wintergreen’ is one of the most beautifully crafted stories I’ve ever read. Ms DeVene’s spare but elegant use of language lets the reader know of a family’s unhealed wounds, while building us up for the healing that begins with hot, sex alfresco on a cold winter day.

There seem to be a lot of stories in NGNS which start in a place of woundedness and end with sexy, healing celebrations of life, and Sienna Conroy’s Dirty Martini story, ‘For His Pleasure,’ does it beautifully as she tells the tale of the deliciously naughty way a wife and husband find their way back to each other after a miscarriage.

I romped my way through the Licorice Whip section of NGNS, which I have to admit, was my over-all favourite, beginning with Janine Ashbless’s wild frolic, ‘Good Doggie,’ progressing to Kay Jaybee’s kinky ‘Corset’ and reaching total melt-down with Kestra Gravier’s fabulous story, ‘A Lesson for Clair,’ in which a post grad student’s former professor gives her a sizzling lesson on taking control.

The anthology finishes off with some delicious girl on girl fun in the Oysters section. Having some experience in martial arts myself, I found Kristina Wright’s story of a woman boxer and the curvy gym bunny who’s got a crush on her. ‘The Dragon Lady’ is hot, sweaty, and fab reading. Jeremy Edwards steamy, and more than a little wet story, ‘Eastern Standard Time,’ is a perfect end to a damn-near perfect anthology.

The variety of stories in NGNS kept me fully engaged with every single offering. The stories were not only consistently sexy, but they were all consistently well-written and cracking good reads aside from the sex. Scorching sex along with a gripping story is always a winning combination, and this anthology has twenty totally different, totally enthralling winners. Reading Nice Girls, Naughty Sex was pure pleasure!

The Great Outdoors Volume 2, More of a Good Thing

Any way you undress it, sex al fresco is the archetypal erotic fantasy, and in her latest offering, The Great Outdoors Volume 2, Two Erotic Short Stories, Lucy Felthouse reminds us once again just why that’s the case. Lucy gives us two wet-hot stories that simmer with sex and chemistry.

In Ms Felthouse’s opening story, Zoe’s first date with Nick at Stratford-upon-Avon starts off as a dud until a rainstorm calls for a little improvising. In the second story Anna and her hot Scottish gamekeeper, Greg, are back by popular demand, with a story that’s almost too hot to handle, but might have benefited from the tiniest bit of a recap for those unlucky enough not to have read The Great Outdoors, the first volume yet. On the other hand, maybe Ms Felthouse knows that if you haven’t read the first TGO, you’ll be scrambling to buy your copy after you’ve read the second.

Lucy Felthouse has a talent for taking everyday life, lighting a fire under it and making  it sizzles larger and sexier than life. The sex is hot, and the stories are fun and quirky, with more than a hint of romance. Great Outdoors Volume 2 is another Felthouse winner.

The two-story format is a great sampler size for newbies to erotica or to Lucy Felthouse, or for anyone wanting a quickie, but I warn you, they won’t be enough. Maybe five stories in volume 3, Ms Felthouse? Possibly ten? Hmmm?

A Captive Audience for ‘The Perfect Submissive’

Kay Jaybee is the queen of BDSM! If ever I doubted that, her debut novel, The Perfect Submissive, published by Xcite Books, eliminated those doubts. Mrs. Peters is just your typical manageress of a typical business hotel called the Fables, oh, and did I mention that she is also a dominatrix extraordinaire, who runs the hotel’s secret, adult entertainment Fifth Floor with an iron hand (and a stiff cane.)

The woman is a sadist’s sadist, and must surely have a degree in psychology tucked inside her corset somewhere, because she understands completely the secret, hidden, dark desires of her guests as well as her staff. And the new clerk, Jess Sanders, has submissive written all over her. She has no idea that her job description will involve a whole lot more than answering the phone and taking bookings. Ms Jaybee gives us a voyeur’s eye view into the tight-laced, hard disciplining, gusset-dampening on-the-job training that will either make Jess the perfect submissive or drive her around the bend trying.

But Jess’s training is not the only thing on Mrs. Peter’s sadistic mind. There’s sexy artist, Sam Wheeler, who just may not respond equally well to Mrs. Peter’s firm hand. Has she finally met her match in the man who has a bit of a dominant streak of his own?

The action is non-stop, hard-hitting, dark, sexy and intriguing. Though The Perfect submissive is not a book for first-timers at the erotica banquet, I defy anyone to walk away when Mrs Peters enters the room.

This may be Kay Jaybee’s debut novel, but here’s sincerely hoping there are lots more where The Perfect Submissive came from!

Available from Xcite, Amazon UK, Amazon US, Waterstones, and all other good eBook retailers.

A Hearty Salute to Uniform Behaviour

Uniform Behaviour: Steamy Stories about Men and Women in Uniform may be Lucy Felthouse’s first attempt at editing an anthology, but wow, I hope it’s not her last! From the first scorching paragraphs of Fireman’s Lift to the last smoldering encounter with a drill sergeant who knows how to handle a recruit with a smart mouth, Uniform Behaviour doesn’t disappoint.

This anthology is a regular treasure trove of sometimes funny, sometimes poignant, sometimes romantic, but always sexy stories for those of us who are turned on by men and women in uniform, and aren’t we all? There are very dirty cleaning ladies and waiters who serve up a lot more than bubbly. There are priests and policemen. There are pilots of starships and security guards. There are cruise ship stewards and palace guards and a whole lot more.

Lucy has chosen beautifully crafted, imaginative stories by some of erotica’s best writers – some are veterans, some are new, but all know their way around a hot tale. Uniform Behaviour has a whole wardrobe full of delicious uniforms to choose from along with the sexy characters who know just how to wear them, and take them off.

In addition to the fact tha Uniform Behaviour is a guaranteed steamy experience for the reader, Lucy Felthouse has put together this fabulous anthology with an added bonus, a portions of the proceeds from Uniform Behaviour go to support the UK charity, Help for Heroes,  which helps those wounded in current conflict. If ever there was a anthology that pushes all the right buttons, Uniform Behaviour does. A must read!
